Masseka Game Studio

Masseka Game Studio is where everything started.

The studio was created with a simple conviction: African stories, games and imagination deserve to exist in modern formats, with the same ambition as any global IP. Masseka began with projects like Kissoro, inspired by one of Africa’s oldest strategy games, and Golden Georges, a mobile game built around football culture.

With La Légende de Mulu, Masseka explored African mythology and heroic storytelling. With Jabari: Battle of the Crown, the studio pushed further into fighting games, music, pop culture and characters inspired content creators, singers from all around the world.

Masseka also opened doors beyond traditional game production. The studio worked around new digital worlds with The Sandbox, and helped structure the ecosystem through Game Hub Sénégal, funded by the French Embassy and the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

Before Gara became a separate company, it was first developed inside Masseka. That is why Masseka remains more than a game studio: it is the creative root behind the larger ecosystem that came after.
